Wedding season is in full swing and while many brides are planning their perfect nuptials, friends and family are curating fun events leading up to their special day.
I recently decided to surprise a bride that is a close family friend by planning and hosting a bridal shower. Her wedding is a destination wedding and I thought this would be a great way for those who cannot attend to help celebrate her nuptials.
I’d love for you to join me on the journey of planning this Bridal Shower. Let’s start with…
The Invitation…
I wanted to create an invitation that is refined, luxurious, and above all budget friendly. I decided making a custom invitation would be the best option for this bridal shower. Her wedding color pallet includes fuchsia, cream, and gold, so I leaned into that when creating the invite. The materials and skills needed for this DIY project are very easy.
The Materials:
1 – Gold Envelope, Paper, and Sleeve kit from Amazon (Link Here)
Decorative paper to match the number of envelopes (from Hobby Lobby)
Envelope liner outline (from The Paper Source)
Scissors
Computer (any word processor or graphic design program like Canva will work)
Printer

By using a premade kit, I was able to create a custom feel for this invitation with ease. Then I designed the invitation wording layout and printed them on the included paper.
I found this custom pink rose paper at my local Hobby Lobby and cut it to size using my envelope insert outline from the Paper Source. Using this technique allowed for me to get one liner per page of paper, so make sure you grab enough paper to accommodate the number of envelopes you are lining. (I will keep the left over paper to use for another project later in the shower planning.) A project like this will help you create custom details and achieve high quality results.
One of my passions is creating custom event invitations. I was able to present a gorgeous invitation with a very light amount of effort. My usual custom invitation projects can be very labor intensive and tend to get complicated. So this was a nice change of pace that still led to a beautiful and on theme invitation.
